While thousands of screaming fans crowded outside to watch the musical acts of Bonnaroo, one of the largest music festivals in the country, iostudio photographer Adam Livingston was on his most exclusive assignment yet: behind the scenes at the Bonnaroo Radio studio.

Elijah Shaw, owner-engineer of The Toy Box Studio in Nashville, was so impressed with Adam’s behind-the-scenes work during our Red Kap music sessions that he asked Adam to come shoot artists recording backstage at Bonnaroo. The freedom Adam had to shoot in his own style at the Red Kap sessions led to the unique and personal photography that caught Shaw’s eye. Adam calls it “just doing my thing.”

At Bonnaroo, Adam had pretty much exclusive access to the studio, getting shots that no other photographer could. He was free to shoot in his own portrait style, often without the musicians even aware of him. The resulting shots are honest, real and completely Adam.
